Oakland Airport Welcomes “Shop the Town,” Offering an Exciting Collection of Local Products, Gourmet Foods and Essential Travel Items

Oakland International Airport (OAK) has introduced a fresh shopping experience with the opening of Shop the Town, one of 16 newly launched retail outlets at the airport. Managed by Paradies Lagardère, this vibrant store showcases a wide array of locally sourced products that capture the essence of the Bay Area. Visitors can find everything from gourmet snacks and regional wines to artisanal jewelry, unique gifts, stylish apparel, and even sports team gear. Additionally, it offers a variety of travel essentials and convenience items.

Located in Terminal 2, near Gate 24, Shop the Town welcomes passengers daily from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., making it an ideal stop for last-minute souvenirs or travel necessities. With its diverse collection of products, it provides an exciting new way for travelers to experience the local culture while on the go.

“We are progressing quickly on our new retail program here at OAK, and we’re pleased to introduce the second new location with the opening of Shop the Town,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Craig Simon. “Passengers can enjoy a wide selection of items available at the new store. We’re especially excited about the inclusion of locally made items from Bay Area businesses!”

Shop the Town invites travelers to embark on a captivating journey into Oakland’s rich cultural heritage and East Bay roots, encouraging a shopping experience that celebrates local craftsmanship. The store’s centerpiece is the spotlight on local designers, artisans, chefs, and businesses, all of whom are honored through Paradies Lagardère’s “Meet the Artisan” program. Visitors will find products from beloved local businesses such as Oakland’s Own, Doodles.Ink, Old Salt Merchants, Bicycle Coffee Co., and Wooden Table Baking Co. Additionally, the store showcases a vibrant mural created by local artist Paulette Nichols, adding to its community-driven spirit.

As OAK continues to expand, several other new retail spots are under construction and are set to open throughout the year, further enhancing the airport’s shopping offerings.
