GetJet Airlines wins a 40-year land lease at Vilnius Airport to build a cutting-edge MRO hangar, boosting travel and creating 50 new jobs in the aviation sector.

GetJet Airlines has emerged victorious in the land lease auction hosted by Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) in late 2024, securing a prime plot within Vilnius Airport. The company has been awarded the rights to manage a 4,664 square meter area under a 40-year long-term lease agreement. GetJet Airlines plans to develop a cutting-edge hangar at this site to bolster its aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services.

Inga Duglas, CEO of GetJet Airlines, confirmed that the design and construction phases will commence shortly, with the first aircraft expected to be serviced in the new facility by 2028. The airline plans to invest €10 million in the project over the period of 2025 to 2028.

The new MRO hangar at Vilnius Airport is anticipated to generate approximately 50 new job opportunities, drawing in skilled professionals across various fields. This includes maintenance engineers, avionics specialists, technicians, engine maintenance experts, as well as staff in planning, quality control, and logistics, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the new facility.
